Sgurr Mhic Choinnich Terrain Block

Sgurr Mhic Choinnich is a narrow blade of rock in the Black Cuillin. Named after the legendary guide John MacKenzie, it is a climber's peak. The ridge is knife-edged, and the summit is small and exposed. It sits right next to the Inaccessible Pinnacle, part of the most spectacular alpine scenery in Britain.

About Sgurr Mhic Choinnich

Named for John MacKenzie, the crofter from Sconser who became the first professional guide and traversing companion of Norman Collie. It is fitting that such a sharp, difficult peak bears the name of a climbing pioneer.
