Historically, it was a focal point for the early communities that lived in the hidden glens, its ridges serving as vital lookouts over the lochs during the era of clan warfare. Geologically, it is part of the Moine supergroup, its rocks recording millions of years of tectonic pressure, now evident in its folded rocks and sharp ridges. Today, it remains a peak of pilgrimage for those seeking a true encounter with the wild, untamed heritage of the West Highlands, requiring long expeditions that preserve its status as a cornerstone of the Scottish wilderness.
