Slioch Terrain Block

Slioch is a fortress of a mountain, a 'Spear' of sandstone rising directly from the waters of Loch Maree. It is one of Scotland's most impressive sights. The ascent involves weaving through fortress-like tiers of rock. The summit offers a commanding view of the Torridon hills and the Great Wilderness to the north.

About Slioch

The 'Spear'. Its isolation across the loch means it catches the eye of every traveller. Geologically, it sits on a bed of gneiss, with the sandstone tor perched on top. A true giant of the north.
