Sron a' Choire Ghairbh Terrain Block

Sron a' Choire Ghairbh is a massive, rounded mountain rising steeply above Loch Lochy. It hides a spectacular northeastern corrie which gives it its name. The zig-zag stalker's path up to the col is a delight, making the ascent efficient. The summit view takes in the entire Great Glen fault line. Standing on the edge of the corrie, the drop is sudden and dramatic, a stark contrast to the broad grassy slopes that characterise the rest of the hill.

About Sron a' Choire Ghairbh

The 'Nose of the Rough Corrie'. The corrie is indeed rough and craggy, contrasting with the grassy western slopes. It stands opposite Ben Tee, a famous Corbett. The Great Glen has been a thoroughfare for history, from saints to soldiers.
