Stob Bàn Terrain Block

Stob Bàn is a sparkling jewel of a mountain, its summit capped with white quartzite that gleams like snow. Whether referring to the Mamores peak or the Grey Corries one, the character is similar—steep, rocky, and striking. The Mamores Stob Bàn is a classic sharp peak, while the Grey Corries one is part of a longer ridge. Both offer superb outlooks.

About Stob Bàn

The 'White Peak'. The quartzite rock is hard and resistant, creating sharp arêtes and scree slopes. It is a favourite for winter climbers due to its alpine appearance. The geology here tells of ancient sandy beaches metamorphosed into stone.
