Stob Choire Claurigh Terrain Block

Stob Choire Claurigh is the highest point of the Grey Corries. It is a magnificent viewpoint, marking the eastern end of the main ridge. The summit is a stony dome that drops steeply into the Lairig Leacach. The ridge stretching west is a highway of white stone, gleaming in the sun. As the highest peak in the range, it offers a commanding perspective over the Mamores and the Ben Nevis massif, making the long walk in fully worthwhile.

About Stob Choire Claurigh

The 'Peak of the Brawling Corrie'. The noise of the burns or the wind in the corrie gives it the name. It anchors the famous traverse. The area is rich in red deer. The extensive views have made it a triangulation station for map makers since the 19th century.
