Stob Coir'an Albannaich Terrain Block

Stob Coir'an Albannaich is a rocky granite peak in the Etive hills. It sits close to the head of Loch Etive. The summit is craggy and complex, requiring care in mist. It is often climbed with Glas Bheinn Mhor. The views down to the sea loch are expansive and atmospheric. The rough granite rock provides excellent grip for boots, making the scrambling sections enjoyable, though the complex terrain demands good navigation skills in poor weather.

About Stob Coir'an Albannaich

The 'Peak of the Scotsman's Corrie'. A curious name—whose corrie' Legend is silent. The granite slabs here provide excellent friction for scrambling. It is a remote and serious hill. Some suggest the name refers to a camp made by Scots forces in ancient times.
