Stob Coire an Laoigh Terrain Block

Stob Coire an Laoigh is the central Munro of the Grey Corries. It is a pyramid of white stone on the long ridge. The name 'Peak of the Calf Corrie' suggests a gentle history of summer grazing, contrasting with the sterile quartzite scree that covers the top. It serves as a distinct waypoint on the long traverse, offering a momentary pause to admire the gleaming white path that stretches ahead and behind.

A key link in the Grey Corries chain. The whiteness of the rock is due to the quartzite, which is slippery when wet but spectacular in sunshine. It guides the walker along one of Scotland's finest ridge traverses.
