Stob Coire Sgriodain Terrain Block

Stob Coire Sgriodain is the rocky neighbor of Chno Dearg. It is far more interesting than its bulkier partner, featuring a fine rocky summit and steep crags overlooking Loch Treig. The view along the loch is precipitous and airy. It contains some 'hidden' scrambling for those who seek it. The contrast between the steep, craggy face overlooking the loch and the grassy slopes behind gives this mountain a dual character that is fascinating to explore.

About Stob Coire Sgriodain

The 'Peak of the Scree Corrie'. The stony slopes justify the name. It provides a balcony view of the Nevis range across the glen. Careful navigation is needed near the summit cliffs. The mountain was famously used for commando training during the Second World War due to its rugged terrain.
