Stob Daimh Terrain Block

Stob Daimh is the 'Peak of the Stag', the eastern Munro of the Ben Cruachan horseshoe. It is a rocky, sharp peak that contrasts with the main summit of Cruachan. The ridge connecting them is a classic walk, featuring rocky steps and steep drops. The final pull to the summit is steep and rocky, rewarding the walker with a fantastic lookout point over the vast, spider-like ridges of the Cruachan massif.

About Stob Daimh

The stag name is common, fitting for a deer forest. It forms the eastern arm of the horseshoe that encircles the Cruachan reservoir. The drovers' road through the Lairig Torran runs below it. The construction of the hydro scheme below brought temporary industrial bustle to this wild place.
