Stuchd an Lochain Terrain Block

Stuchd an Lochain is a steep-sided mountain enclosing Loch an Daimh. A high start from the dam makes it a short steep ascent. The summit ridge curls around the deep corrie holding the Lochan nan Cat, a spectacular hidden gem. The walk around the rim of the corrie offers constantly changing views of the dark water below, a dramatic feature that belies the relatively short distance walked.

About Stuchd an Lochain

The 'Peak of the Little Loch'. The corrie lochan is the jewel. The dam is part of the extensive Breadalbane hydro scheme. It is often climbed in a short day, but the corrie cliffs are impressive.
