The Devil's Point Terrain Block

The Devil's Point is a small but spectacular peak in the heart of the Lairig Ghru. It guards the pass like a sentinel. Its Gaelic name 'Bod an Deamhain' (Demon's Penis) was bowdlerized for Queen Victoria to 'The Devil's Point'. It is a steep, rocky cone that looks magnificent from the south. The climb from the Corrour Bothy is steep and direct, placing you right in the center of the Cairngorm giants.

About The Devil's Point

The story of the name change for the Queen is a classic of Victorian propriety. The mountain lies near the Corrour Bothy, a haven for weary travellers. Legend says the Devil pointed it out to his followers.
